ProfiFeed® Cutting Line is an automated high-speed cutting solution for all small size structural RHS, SHS and round steel stock. Continuous bar stock loading, feeding, cutting to length, and parts collection, with no operator required.
The system is designed to cut any profile shape that you can cut on a manual cold saw with little or no mechanical setup. Cut lengths from 25 to 8000 mm, with 10 mm minimum off-cut length, a World leading performance. Simply input bar stock, and pick up cut pieces. ProfiFeed® Drilling Line is an automated high-speed drilling solution for all small size structural RHS, SHS and round steel stock. Continuous bar stock loading, drilling of any hole patterns on all sides, and finished parts collection, with no operator required.
ProfiFeed system streamlines hole dimensional information from design to completed part. We develop an app for your CAD software which extracts the hole data direct from the design, and inputs into the machine. This results in elimination of human data manipulation and the possibility of jobbing errors, from CAD to finished piece. Simply input correct bar stock, and pick up the drilled piece.

Deer Park Bypass Project
Solutions for Applications with No Standard Solutions
Special application development designed for high capacity, high angle cutting of large roll-formed steel sheets for the construction phase of Melbourne’s Western Freeway. At a late stage of the project it was identified that no solution existed for manufacturing large innovative design sound wall sections.
ReconEng was tasked with designing a steel cutting solution with capacity up to 2000x100 mm and ±70° angle. The design successfully achieved all production requirements and ReconEng performance on what was a project critical path item was one of the key factors which contributed to the Deer Park Bypass opening eight months ahead of schedule.

NGS 150 Nano-Glass Saw
High-Precision Applications
Development of a cutting solution for small diameter glass tubing requiring high-precision, fine-tolerance operation to achieve a quality pass cut. High-precision diamond-disc saw for semi-automatic cutting of nano-glass tubing with the outside diameter down to 360 micron. High-precision rotational assembly with micron concentricity, as well as high-stability cutting stroke control. The implemented solution reduced the cut reject rate by more than 90 per cent. FSBR Robotic Riveting System
Never Before Tried Systems and Concepts Development
FSBR (2012-2015) was a development of joining system which employs a never before implemented concept for making riveted Aluminium joints. The suitability of the concept was researched by GM and CSIRO and ReconEng was selected as the head contractor for machine-tool development and integration into a robotic cell suitable for widescale implementation.
Development involved integrating multiple mechanical and electrical sub-systems, while achieving high speed and high reliability demands of auto manufacturing. Prototype final integration and commissioning were completed in 2015 and the process is to undergo trials in the US in 2015 to assess suitability for implementation to GM assembly plants Worldwide.

Special application semi-automatic saw for highspeed cutting of large steel sections. Heavy vehicle manufacturer identified a key production bottleneck at band-saw cutting of a large section.
ReconEng was tasked with development of a standalone system which could cut the section at five times faster rate or better than existing.
The resulting system developed was capable of production cutting 300x100 mm sections in under 90 seconds significantly faster than specification, and World-leading performance for cutting speed. Full project design, implementation and on-site commissioning in Auckland, NZ.
